Driveway cleaning and pressure washing, Leeds
Driveway Cleaning and Pressure Washing in Leeds
Leeds rain, tree cover and shaded frontages give moss and algae plenty of chances to take hold. Our commercial jet washing lifts that growth from block paving, imprinted concrete, resin and patios, and we can re-sand or reseal the surface afterwards. A proper clean is often all a tired drive needs.

What builds up on Leeds drives and patios
North-facing frontages and tree-lined roads around Roundhay and Headingley stay damp for days after rain, which is exactly what moss and algae want. Leaf litter stains paving, tyres leave dark tracks, and weeds root into blocked joints. Sealed imprinted concrete can also dull as its coating wears. None of this means the surface has failed, and a thorough clean will show you what condition it is really in.

The right pressure for each surface
Pressure washing is not one setting for everything. Block paving can take a firm clean, but it loses joint sand, so the joints need refilling once dry. Resin needs a gentler approach, because forcing water at a surface too closely can disturb the finish, and sandstone patios need similar care to avoid marking. We set the pressure and distance to match what we find, and test a small area first where it matters.

Clean, reseal, repair or replace?
Most drives that look finished are simply dirty, so it makes sense to clean first and decide later. Resealing is well worth doing on imprinted concrete, where the sealer gives the colour its depth and protects the surface. Sunken blocks or deep cracking are a different matter, because no amount of washing will fix a failed base. In that case we will say so, and explain which repairs make sense before you spend anything on cleaning.

How the job works
- 1Inspect and testWe identify the surface, look at stains and joints, and agree exactly what needs doing.
- 2Treat growth and washMoss and weeds are dealt with, then the surface is jet washed in overlapping passes.
- 3Rinse edges and refill jointsDebris is rinsed from edges and drains, then block paving joints get fresh kiln-dried sand.
- 4Seal once fully dryWhere sealing was agreed, the coating goes on only when the surface is dry and the weather allows.

Common questions
How much sand is lost when block paving is pressure washed?
Some joint sand always comes out, which is normal. That is why we refill the joints with kiln-dried sand once the surface has dried, so the blocks stay locked together.
Do you offer pressure washing in Leeds for patios and paths?
Yes. As well as driveways, we pressure wash patios and paths, including sandstone and porcelain. Tell us what you want cleaned and we can cover it all in one visit.
Can imprinted concrete in Leeds be recoloured when it is resealed?
A fresh sealer will bring back much of the depth, but it cannot fix a worn or badly stained surface completely. We will show you what a clean achieves before sealing.
What time of year is best to get a drive cleaned in Leeds?
Cleaning can be done for much of the year, but sealing needs dry weather and a dry surface. Spring and summer usually suit a clean and reseal, and we will plan around the forecast.
