Normanton, Altofts & Featherstone
Resin Driveways Normanton & Featherstone
Many homes in Normanton and Featherstone have a narrow side drive or an ageing concrete strip that has seen better days. Resin bound suits those shapes well, so it is what we lead with here, alongside block paving, gravel and the rest of our garden work.

Side drives and strip drives, done properly
Railway and colliery history shaped both towns, which means plenty of terraces and semis with a slim run of concrete down the side of the house. Those strips tend to crack at the joints and collect water by the garage door. A resin bound finish has no joints, follows curves and tight corners neatly, and a dark border gives a narrow run a clean outline. If the concrete beneath is sound, we may be able to overlay it rather than dig everything out.
- Seamless finish on narrow runs and awkward corners
- Dark or brick borders to define the edge
- Channel drain at the garage door if water collects there
- Overlay where the existing concrete is level and solid
Picking from 59 blends without the guesswork
A small swatch can look very different once it covers a full drive. So Sean brings samples to the house and you can hold them against your bricks, window frames and front door. Lighter stone brightens a shaded side passage, while darker blends hide tyre marks and sit well on modern homes. If you would like a real talking point, our signature compass star inlay can be set into the surface at the front of the drive.
- Samples viewed in your own light, against your own brickwork
- Light blends for side passages that get little sun
- Compass star inlays as a signature detail
- Colour-contrast bands to break up a long strip
When resin is not the answer
We do not push resin on every plot. If your base has sunk badly and the budget will not stretch to a rebuild, a contained gravel drive may be the more sensible choice. If you want a patterned traditional look, block paving is the better fit. And if the back garden around your Featherstone or Altofts home needs sorting at the same time, we can do that too with fencing, patios or artificial grass.
- Gravel or shingle with block edging as a lower-cost route
- Block paving for a patterned, repairable surface
- Clean and reseal if your paving only needs a refresh
- Fencing, patios and lawns added to the same project
How the job works
- 1Test the old surfaceWe check the existing strip for cracking, hollow spots and standing water, then advise on overlay or new base.
- 2Agree the blend and borderYou pick a blend and an edge detail from samples, and confirm any inlay position on site.
- 3Prepare and edgeRepairs or a new base are completed and borders are set, with drainage added where the run needs it.
- 4Mix and trowelResin and aggregate are mixed in small batches and hand-trowelled in suitable weather for an even finish.

- Sean visits in person and brings the samples, and our own team then carries out the work.
Common questions
Do you install resin driveways in Featherstone as well as Normanton?
Yes. We treat Normanton, Altofts and Featherstone as one patch, and they are all a short trip from our Pontefract base.
Is my narrow side drive in Normanton too small for resin?
Almost certainly not. Resin is trowelled by hand, so tight runs and corners suit it well. The main thing we check is whether the base beneath is sound.
Can resin go over the old concrete strip on my Normanton drive?
If it is level, solid and drains properly, usually yes. Where it has lifted or split badly, we would recommend replacing the base so the problem does not come back through the new surface.
Which resin colours suit brick terraces in Featherstone?
Warm golden and buff blends tend to sit well with red brick, while silver greys look crisp beside render or modern frames. Seeing samples against your own wall is the best test.
